
Charles Kohler is a full-time labor arbitrator with more than two decades of experience adjudicating disputes in both the private and public sectors. He has issued over 1,000 labor arbitration awards and is recognized for his deep expertise in labor and employment law and his disciplined, even-handed approach to dispute resolution.

Mr. Kohler began serving as a labor arbitrator in 1992. In recognition of his professional excellence and contributions to the field, he was invited to join the National Academy of Arbitrators in 2002. In 2023, he was further honored with selection to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. In recognition of his expertise in public sector collective bargaining issues, the Florida Public Relations Commission appointed him as a Special Magistrate for impasse proceedings.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law, where his interest in labor arbitration was sparked by a professor who was also a leading labor arbitrator.

Mr. Kohler is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Florida. He began his career adjudicating appeals under the Ohio Unemployment Compensation Law. He then started a private law practice focusing on workers' compensation, labor law, and employment law.

He also worked as a mediator for the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals. He later practiced with Clemans, Nelson & Associates, representing clients throughout Ohio in all aspects of labor and employment law.

Earlier in his career, he was an accountant with Price Waterhouse, bringing a strong analytical and financial perspective to his legal practice.
